Maria Valtorta is the best author of literature since St. John the Evangelist. Not only
by her remarkable literary talent, but by Divine inspiration. Her
monumental masterpiece, POEM
OF THE MAN-GOD, reads like a 5th Gospel, cautiously approved by Pope Pius XII, the ONLY 5th Gospel ever approved by a Pope with 3 priest witnesses! It is in perfect harmony with the Four Canonical Gospels. However, Catholics are only required to believe the Public Revelation of The Bible &
Tradition (The "Deposit of Faith"), and therefor, Catholics may believe
Maria's writings with their human faith, but are not forced to consider her writings as part of Divine Catholic Faith.
New readers should be skeptical of authors making claims of having been
inspired by God, but as they read their anxiety is relieved as they see
that each page reinforces
their Christian Catholic Faith in such a wonderful way, that the vast
majority of readers believe her work is a precious gift from Heaven in
our unsettling times. She writes as if her pen is a camera,
drawing readers into each scene as if being there. Some are pitifully
unable to consider that God is so good as to give us this brilliant
treasure in our age, so they initially view Maria's work as a literary
product having the stylistic form of a revelation.
After reading many pages, it must cross their minds that a woman (or
man) could not write these unique pages with simply her imagination.
The written testimony of Archbishop George Pearce indicates that an open mind will find Maria's work inspired by the Holy Spirit. The written testimony of Bishop Roman Danylak,
S.T.L., J.U.D.,confirms Pius XII's directive that it is good pasturage for the faithful. As bishops multiply in their endorsement of Maria's writings, it is clear that faith in her
writings is more of divine rather than simply human origin. Archbishop Soosa Pakiam M. of Trivandrum, India, granted an Imprimatur for the Malayalam translation of POEM OF THE
MAN-GOD in 1992. Archbishop
Alfonso Carinci, Secretary of the Vatican Curia's Congregation for the
Sacred Rites, endorsed Maria's Life of Jesus in 1946. That is 5
successors of the Apostles, including a Pope, that have endorsed Maria
Valtorta's work with their charism of Magisterial teaching authority.

CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH #67, Revised Edition 1997:
"Throughout the
ages, there have been so-called 'private' revelations, some of which
have been recognized by the authority of the Church. THEY DO NOT
BELONG, HOWEVER, TO THE DEPOSIT OF FAITH. It is NOT their role to
improve or complete Christ's definitive Revelation, but to HELP LIVE
MORE FULLY BY IT IN A CERTAIN PERIOD OF HISTORY (like right now). Guided by the Magisterium of the Church, the sensus fidelium knows how to discern and welcome in these revelations an authentic call
of Christ or His saints to the Church. Christian faith cannot accept
'revelations' that claim to SURPASS or CORRECT the Revelation of which
Christ is the fulfillment, as is the case in certain non-Christian
religions and also in certain recent sects which base themselves on
such 'revelations'."
~~~~~~~
St
John of the Cross, a Doctor of the Church, said to distrust all
"private revelation", but like light coming through a window, it will
have the good effect, God desires, even if you mistrust it. Jesus said
to Maria: "You know more than the Great John (the Apostle). O My worshipping crucified one, this
is what I wanted to give you by virtue of your long suffering: perfect,
complete knowledge of Us, as Saints and Doctors (of the Church) did not
possess it." Although
Maria's writings are prophetic revelation, there are no "new" doctrines
different from the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church.
His Holiness, Pope Pius XII
St John of the Cross' advice is superceded by Pope Pius XII who privately (no cardinal as witness) said: "Publish this work (Il Poema dell'Uomo-Dio)as it is; there is no need to say whether it is of supernatural origin, who reads it will understand."
Feb. 26, 1948.
Pius XII's cautious approval of the work fits in with Jesus' plan, Who
told Maria that He wanted the work to spread like leaven throughout the
Church, and that He did not want an open & noisy diffusion of it at
that time even to the point of concealing her name as the author
while she was alive.
The Church has to be cautious in declaring her work to be "inspired" because it would triple the size of the Bible, if all her writings (the parts that are dictations) are included: AZARIAH, LESSONS ON ST. PAUL'S EPISTLE TO THE ROMANS, POEM OF THE MAN-GOD (5 volumes), NOTEBOOKS 1943, NOTEBOOKS 1944, and NOTEBOOKS
1945-1950.
Requesting her own funeral arrangements, Maria wanted the phrase: "I have finished with suffering, but I will go on loving" to be printed in her memory. Ecclesiastical authority permitted this inscription upon her tomb: "DIVINARUM RERUM SCPRIPTRIX" (Writer of Divine Things), a thinly veiled reference to her divinely inspired writings, the likeness of which has not been seen since Saint John the Great Evangelist and Revelator, hence Jesus' nickname for her as "Little John", and even "The New John". Maria's filling in the gaps between the 4 Canonical Gospels so harmoniously and skillfully is
nothing less than a NEW EVANGELIZATION with the command of Pope Pius XII, the very last pope to issue an Infallible Decree (1950), The Assumption of Mary, Body & Soul, into heaven.
The End Times - by Maria Valtorta
Excerpted from THE NOTEBOOKS 1943, THE NOTEBOOKS 1944, AND THE NOTEBOOKS 1945-1950
Until recently, the End Times had been poorly understood, because the best source on them, St. John's REVELATION,
is full symbols difficult to interpret. But in 1943, there was a
breakthrough. God lifted some veils off the Antichrist, the two Beasts
and the great Babylon: He shed light on the Woman clothed with the sun,
and the two Witnesses, and clarified many other Biblical passages about
the End Times.
At times sad, at times exalting, at times
comforting: Jesus' stirring dictations to Maria are powerful
prophecies, exhortations, rebukes, and teachings to shake us up and to
show us our world for what it is - to enlighten our minds and set our
hearts on fire for God.
---see the crackling tension between God's overflowing Love and His offended Justice:
---heed Jesus' compassionate appeals to us to save
our souls (and those of others) by cooperating with God's grace in
these uncertain times of ours (terrorism, war, hurricanes, floods,
fires, extremities of hot & cold weather, earthquakes, tsunamis)
these times of ours which are
called.................................the End Times.
Softcover, 161 pages, $15.00 US
Although the translator is printed in the book as being Paul T. Y. Atworth, this is a pseudonym of Professor Leo A. Brodeur, of wonderful memory, who did much to promote the writings of Maria
Valtorta in French Canada, and English speaking North America in the
1980's and 1990's. He is most probably in heaven, but if still in
purgatory, whisper a prayer to God for him with a gesture of gratitude
for this courageous champion of Maria Valtorta! |
The Virgin Mary in the Writings of Maria Valtorta
This
is an account of the life of The Virgin Mary to edify those who wish to
better know their Heavenly Mother in her historical daily life as well
as in her extraordinary mystical life.
Renowned mariologist Roschini said:
"Maria Valtorta of Viareggio, Italy, is one of the eighteen greatest female Marian mystics of all time."
"..the Mariology found in all of Maria Valtorta's writings--both published and unpublished--has been a real discovery for me. No other Marian writings, not even the sum total of everything I have read and studied, were able to give me as clear, as vivid, as
complete, as luminous, or as fascinating an image, both simple and
sublime, of Mary, God's Masterpiece."
Her
physical beauty and indomitable spirit, her upper-class standing, the
members of her family, her scandalous, licentious behavior in the
worldly milieu of the Romans, her conversion that does not appease her
inveterate passion, but rather directs her from a love of damnation
towards a love of salvation... From the literary work of Maria Valtorta
entitled THE POEM OF THE MAN-GOD,
passages from various chapters, or entire chapters altogether, have
been drawn out and interconnected, all regarding the figure of Mary of
Magdala.
Mary, Mother of the Redeemer and the Church
Her Life, Sufferings and Mission
Jesus says: "The Human eye cannot stare at the
sun, but it can look at the moon. The soul's eye cannot stare at God's
perfection as it is. But it can look the perfection of Mary... She is
illuminated by Him, and reflects the light which has illuminated Her... NOTEBOOKS 1943, p. 115.
"...in (My Mother's) prayers
lies the secret of the salvation of the world. She, My Mother, is the
Conqueress of the cursed Dragon. Assist Her power by means of your
renewed love for Her, and your renewed faith and knowledge of what
pertains to Her. Mary has given the Savior to the world. The world
will receive salvation again from Her. POEM OF THE MAN-GOD, Vol. #5, p. 946.
"Always
consider that Mary is the Mother of Pain, as I am the Master of
Life.... She was alone, in the tremendous hour, to know the horror of
solitude and to expiate your acts of desperation as creatures... She
was an abyss of hope... If you believe in Her always, you will never
know the horror of despair..." NOTEBOOKS 1943, p. 311.
Jesus
says: "(There will be) those who, although they belong to the Holy
Religion, will not be beatified, because they did not lead a holy life. But a virtuous heathen,
only because he lived according to choice virtue, convinced that his
religion was good, will have Heaven at the end..." POEM OF THE MAN-GOD, Volume #4, p.167.
In addition to the sources quoted above, this work also has excerpts from NOTEBOOKS 1944, NOTEBOOKS 1945-1950, AZARIAH, and LESSONS ON THE EPISTLE OF ST. PAUL TO THE ROMANS, all written by Maria Valtorta.
Jesus Examined in the Temple When He Is of Age
- To prepare you for the battle, I give you My Agonizing Crucifix. I promise
to protect anyone who has this Crucifix against the evil forces.
- Through this Crucifix, I will deliver many from captivity.
- Whenever you raise this Crucifix against evil power, I will open heaven and
let My Precious Blood flow to subdue the evil power.
- I will let My Precious Blood flow from all
My Sacred Wounds and cover
all who venerate My Wounds and Blood through this Crucifix.
- I promise to protect any house where this
Crucifix is against any
destructive power in the hour of darkness.
- I promise to perform numerous miracles through this Crucifix.
- I will break their hearts of stone and pour My love on them that venerate My
Agonizing Crucifix.
- I promise also to draw straying souls closer to Myself through this
